Emília Duarte is an assistant professor of Ergonomics in the Design graduate and post-graduate (master and Ph.D) courses at IADE, Universidade Europeia, Lisbon, Portugal. Currently she is the Director of UNIDCOM – IADE’s Research Unit in Design and Communication, coordinates the master in Interaction Design and Ph.D in Design courses at IADE. She has a B.A. in product Design from IADE (1994), a master degree in Ergonomics in Occupational Safety (2006) and a Ph.D in Human Kinetics with specialization in Ergonomics (2011) from the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa. Most of her research focused cognitive ergonomics topics, with emphasis for warnings effectiveness, virtual reality, UX/IxD and emotional design issues. Besides that, she is fellow of the ADDUX - Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Usabilidade e Experiência de Utilização.
