Paula Neves holds a PhD in Digital Media from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon under the program with the University of Texas at Austin - Portugal Collaboratory (CoLab) (2021). Within this context she was a fellow of the Foundation of Science and Technology.
She holds a Master's degree in New Social Media Web Practices from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the NOVA University of Lisbon (2011). She postgraduate in Mutimedia from the University of Florence (Italy, 2001) and graduated in Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon (1989).
She has academical professional experience as a professor of design and technology in institutions such as the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the NOVA University of Lisbon, Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon and Lusophone University. In addition to teaching she works as a consultant and designer in communication design and digital media.
She is currently a visiting assistant professor at IADE, European University and a collaborating researcher at UNIDCOM/IADE. Her research is focused on Multisensory HCI Design with focus on the chemical senses, environmental communication and geographic representation systems (GIS). These interests consider immersive digital media, UI/UX and planet centric design.
